Heya guys, a few people have emailed me some key questions and i have passed these on to Henry, the answers are below. Also all cheques for people dropping out were sent of Monday so hopefully you will recieve these soon, note that they have been sent to the address you gave me, so makesure you check in the right place. Also i am trying to organise 2 bagpacks, cake sales and a street collection but they are taking longer than expected so bare with me. Please not there are also a number of attatchments so check them out! - What is the name of the route we are taking up the mountain? *Marangu. We could take Machame, which is a route I slightly prefer, but it would cost an extra £100- i.e take £100 away from the charities.* - What are the names of the companies we are doing the climb and safari with? *Really Wild Travel (www.reallywildtravel.com). We were originally going to use a local operator, but I've had some serious reliabilty concerns about the companies we had shortlisted. Really Wild are not only run by a chap I've known for a while and trust but are also registered and regulated in the UK, giving everyone a greater level of protection should anything not go to plan on the trip. Also, we pay in ££ rather than $$, which is a real lifesaver considering the plummet the exchange rate has been suffering the last 6 months.* - What are the definate dates of both trips? *Still the same as what you requested, I'm just waiting of final confirmation of flight times from STA and then I'll send you over the deposit confirmation.* -Have we got a kit list? So people can start buying things. *Kit list attached.* -When do we need to buy our Kenyan and Tanzanian visas? *Visas are only valid 3months after issue, so not a concern for another month and a half yet. Kenyan visas are transit and are obtained at the borders, Tanz visas should be obtained in advance, either postally (takes about a month) or in person (24 hours), will send details a bit closer to the time* - We have to buy our insurance ourselves don't we? *Yup, again, we'll send out some advice a bit closer to the time, but insurance for this trip ranges from £8 (cheaper.travelinsurance.co.uk) to £60-70 (STA, no excess policies)*
